Researchers have developed ‘One-Tip’, a groundbreaking lossless proteomics method that radically simplifies the workflow for analyzing protein samples. Traditionally, proteomics required complex multi-step procedures that were not only time-consuming but also prone to errors. One-Tip addresses these issues head-on, streamlining the process without sacrificing depth or accuracy.
One-Tip can reliably identify over 9,000 proteins from roughly 1,000 cells and around 6,000 proteins in a single mouse zygote, all at a rate of 40 samples per day.
Contrary to traditional methodologies that demand a myriad of steps, the One-Tip process needs only two pipetting actions and a mere hour of incubation.
The method was tested on varying amounts of HeLa cells, showing impressive proteome depth, even for as few as 20 cells. This is a notable advancement over previous techniques that faced sample losses.
