IonOpticks strengthens European operations with key business development appointments.

The European expansion complements IonOpticks’ global growth strategy.

Melbourne, August 27, 2025: IonOpticks, a world-leading provider of liquid chromatography solutions, today announces two strategic appointments to expand its European operations, strengthening support for the rapidly growing proteomics research community across the continent. Joris Frenz, PhD joins as Business Development Manager for Europe, and Dr. Britta Diedrich as Senior Business Development Manager for Europe, establishing a dedicated on-the-ground presence to serve researchers in the DACH region and beyond.

“We are delighted to welcome Britta and Joris to IonOpticks at such an important stage of our growth in Europe and the UK,” says Xavier Perronnet, CEO at IonOpticks. “Their experience will help us connect more closely with researchers and showcase our growing range of chromatography products powering LC-MS research, drug discovery and clinical workflows throughout the region.”

The European proteomics market has experienced unprecedented growth, with the DACH region emerging as a prominent hub of innovation in clinical proteomics, bioprocessing, and fundamental research. This expansion reflects IonOpticks’ commitment to providing localised support in key research markets, building on the company’s successful global operations established earlier in 2025.

Frenz brings deep scientific expertise and a passion for proteomics applications. After completing biochemistry degrees at the University of Heidelberg, he earned his PhD at the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, focusing on proteogenomics of osteosarcoma with emphasis on LC-MS-based proteomics. His diverse professional background spans customer-facing roles including as a Field Marketing Representative, and analytical work as a Data Analyst, providing him with unique insights into both research needs and commercial applications.

Complementing this scientific foundation, Diedrich contributes extensive commercial experience in the analytical instrumentation market. With a PhD in proteomics specialising in protein complex dynamics, she brings over eight years of proven success in LC-MS instrument sales, serving applied markets, academia, and private sector clients and driving sales of proteomics workflow solutions, most recently at Evosep Biosystems.

“By building stronger relationships with laboratories across the region, we can better understand their evolving needs and ensure IonOpticks delivers solutions that make a real difference in their workflows,” Perronnet added.

The European expansion complements IonOpticks’ global growth strategy, which includes major product releases designed to extend the company’s industry-leading column performance to broader proteomics applications and adjacent sectors. With dedicated Business Development Managers now covering North America and Europe, IonOpticks is well-positioned to provide comprehensive support to the international research community while maintaining its core manufacturing and development operations in Australia.

Both appointments are effective immediately, with Frenz and Diedrich working closely to establish stronger relationships with European research institutions, enhance customer support, and identify new opportunities for collaboration across the continent’s vibrant proteomics ecosystem.
